So, here we go again. I didn't think I was gonna post anything else so 'quickly' - or at all. But here I am, thoughtful as ever. So here comes a long post on stuff you may or may not agree with/relate to.
About 20 minutes ago, I was knee-deep into reading online. I was reading in this subreddit, on other forums about peoples' experiences with work, school, and life in general. I was feeling sort of excited about studying, because I'm going to a new school in August. Although I was also feeling the regular 'school is just a human factory producing humans that may or may not want to be fed with information every day'.
But now, after some more reading - I got these crazy realizations that almost made me wanna throw up. I had to hurry to my bike and ride somewhere quiet and solitary so I could calm down and think. As I'm writing this, I'm sitting at the edge of the sea. And after some thought, I literally don't know what's stopping me from jumping in and refusing to swim. I don't know what I'm clinging onto in this world. I feel like no matter what thing I do - it's fucked up somehow. It just is. Because as much as I think the world is a stunningly beautiful place; I also know just how horrid it is. Instead of it feeling balanced, I'm constantly thrown off by what's happening and how it makes me feel. Every day I get older and more knowledgable. And as my mind expands, my obliviousness decreases. As children, our minds are so small and can only hold a certain amount of comprehension and knowledge. And so, what is beyond our small minds - doesn't exist to us. Ignorance becomes bliss.
It's these constant pros and cons, positives and negatives, dopes and nopes, that tires me out more than anything. 'This is bad because X, but it is good in the Y regard'. How about no? How about something is purerly terrible for a change, and so we can all work against it? Or something is genuinely just good for once. There is an infinite number of examples to this
Yeah, most people think selling drugs is bad. Society sure does a good job of brainwashing our opinions on everything. But it is always, ALWAYS more to it. What if someone is selling drugs to make a living for their family? What if it's their only option, because they were born with some 'difficulty' society shuns down on, and gave them a terrible life because of that? What if the drugs that are being sold are helping someone?
Disclaimer: This was just an example, not my opinion on selling drugs and drug use.
Because of the neverending pros and cons, I can almost never be satisfied with anything. It's like a curse to my mind. Like I said, I'm excited about school, yet I'm really not. The neutral it gives me is not comfortable, it is confusing. And I've realized I get this confusing neutral with so many things in life. It's so difficult, because I don't know how to make peace with it yet.
You can apply it to anything; even life itself. What is the pros and cons of life - the life of a human being, like you and me? The cons are that we have the potential to be outright terrifying, both to ourselves and the world around us. We experience pain. We suffer, and make others suffer too whether we want to or not. So looking at this, the logical decision would be to commit suicide right? Well of course it's not as simple as that. Because while removing yourself may prevent a lot of pain to yourself and the world, the ones who care about you will suffer immensely. Once again, positives and negatives.
The pros of life are of course the opposite. Because there is pleasure in life. A lot of pleasure for you, and for you to give to others. Living a full life until you die of inevitable causes can prevent suffering and do good in the world. While it feels primitive to break down human life like this, it is also incredibly relieving. Because when we do so - we realize we cannot do completely wrong, because nothing is completely wrong or right. When we were born, we didn't receive any universal morals and rules. We make our own, and usually society tries to make them for us. There is only black and white when we weigh the consequences like this - otherwise the world, with all its mixed pros and cons, is just a grayzone.
I'm not gonna jump in. I'm going to do the most 'noble' thing a human being can do, in my opinion. It's three things. I'm not gonna risk everyone's suffering by giving birth (and by doing so end this bloodline of otherwise future birth and suffering), I'm gonna live until I die (hopefully of old age) to not inflict immense pain upon my loved ones and I'm gonna try to treat everyone well and inspire them.
I feel better now when I've gotten all of this out of me. Thank you for reading.
